Some of us can't E-file the entire return.
Due to the nature of the returns, some can't be E-filed.
That’s been a postal regulation since, like, forever. It’s nothing new.
But does it make sense?
That’s enough to make the customers “go postal”.
I learned in Business Law class that legal documents such as tax returns sent to the US government by US mail are deemed to have been received the day they are posted as ebidenced by postmark or certified mail receipt. If you have the certified mail receipt I don’t see how they can charge you penalty and interest. This is an advantage over FedEx.

It assures that only the box holder has access to the mail or someone that has been given the key by the box holder. Otherwise, anyone could sashay into the post office and claim the mail of someone else if they knew the name and the box number.
These weren’t TurboTax they were just e-filed.

E-filed returns are encrypted ...
Ok. Then maybe the FBI got it wrong or maybe encrypted can be hacked in some way.

I would guess their computer had some malware installed.
Thanks - I get that one wrong about half the time...
I’ve never had a problem with FedEx. This evening my neighbor
handed me my mail that the USPS carrier left in his mailbox.
