I hate Next Gwneration. DS9 is the best non TOS Star Trek.

TNG seasons 1 and 2 were BAD, and not in a George Thorogood sort of way. The political correctness was so pervasive it left a nasty smell on the TV. The later seasons were OK, however. DS9 was a spinoff, directed by the same guy who did Battlestar Galactica. It had some interesting characters, for sure.

Love Blake’s 7. It is fascinating to watch Avon’s character arc.

I’m with you. Great character development, complex story arcs, and enough messiness to make it real.

There is a fourth rumored season that will be forthcoming...

Replicators don’t create matter from energy, they rearrange matter to make things.🤔

Sort of, but consider that the Enterprise is something like a battleship on the high seas. Not much room for free enterprise or individual initiative there — or in places where no man has gone before.

It may be good, but I’m tired of “franchise” and “universe” stuff.

It was explained several times in TNG that replicators work similar to the transporters. They covert matter to energy and back again. They of course don’t explain exactly how this works, but it takes a lot of energy to make even a tiny amount of matter.

Let’s take a sugar cube weighing 3 grams, for example. Using E=MC^2, the food replicators would need 2.7x10^14 joules of energy to create this. It equates to a 64 kiloton nuclear weapon, or about 4 Hiroshima bombs.

The wedding of Mon Mothma’s daughter was arranged by the parents, and had nothing to do with love.
