It was really fun to watch Rama-what’shisname squirm in his seat when Trump confronted him. I’ve never seen a president put anybody on the spot like that before and it was wonderful.

The reason for our present dysfunction can be seen in the reaction to what Rhodesia PM Ian Smith once said about decolonization, and the truth of his words. He said:

A VP of a company i worked with had a business there 20+ years ago. He was a transplant from Belgium. His software company wrote packages that helped run small government operations. He was a millionaire. After mandela took over, guys used to sit down the street from his house and watch his family all day. he decided to leave and wasn’t allowed to take anything with him.
