bkmk for later.
Congratulations for having confidence in your writing abilities and putting your work out for review. Remember, you’re doing the best you can at this point in your writing journey. Keep reading the type of fiction you love and get a feel as to how the writers you love get their ideas to come to life. Let your own characters and plots play in your head like a movie. When it grabs you, then get it down on paper. Go with the ideas that grab you even if they’re a little crazy. There’s a niche audience for all types of fiction somewhere, in little magazines, or uploaded to Amazon. About your novel, it moved well. Kept my interest. Flesh out the characters so we get a better picture of them. Make it clear from beginning there’s a,sci first element, otherwise itsy jarring when we expect a political filler and then the, aliens cone in. Open novel with real exciting scene like the best films do. Good luck and keep writing!
Leave out references to real people like G. Bush being involved in assassination attempts!
Good point. I want to bring this in, though. How?
Oh Iโm the friend. :)
You’re the friend! Or is it, fiend? ๐
I figured it out. No direct accusation will be made by VP James, there will be only hints. Implications. Should be lawsuit-proof enough.
Already rewritten.
BTTT
Tell me your impressions! Did it grab you?
I wrote my first novel without much feedback except for somebody in Alaska saying there wasn’t enough sex and profanity in it and the occasional complaint about typos (Those folks are all over here now, it seems. LOL)
When I wrote my third novel of the series in West Texas and a real old-fashioned cowboy called me crying about the demise of a central character, it dawned on me that eliciting emotion was the key to a successful novel, and it didn’t seem to matter if they raged, laughed, cried, or threw up, folks liked to be pulled into the story.
I burned out after my seventh and conclusion of the series, except for one ministry how-to a few years back, but I still get inquiries about those books.
I'm not doing any sex scenes. I get enough sex in real life. ๐
LOL!
No offense, it’s just not my kind of read.
I like science fiction, and I like history, and I like real documentaries. But for me mixing any of the three comprises a genre I just don’t buy. This a commment on the subject matter and I made alone.
No worries; not a single one. ๐ There’s not one single author in history that appealed to everyone.
Some people will like my stuff, some people will be ambivalent, some people will hate my stuff, some people will track me down by helicopter and try to shoot me like a feral hog as I sprint on all fours, zigzagging across the Australian outback.
Interestingly, that is EXACTLY what I do.
