So with the Army, any break in service more than five years generally means redoing basic training.

I’d assume the Marines have something similar? Sixteen years later, MoH, that’ll be interesting. Should go officer route - at least get paid better!

I cannot imagine anything better for our country than to have such a man pinning the Eagle, Globe and Anchor on our sons and daughters, except having him teach those who do.

Love your rifle.

Love the Corps.
Do your PT every day.

I’m sure he’d do anything he’s assigned to do

I'd hate to be in his boots, always expected of oneself to perform equal to or surpassing what you've already done, a personal disappointment when you don't or can't.

It's a hell of a standard to compare oneself with. It's going to call for a great courage, going forward. Hope and pray to God that he can deal with it.
