It’s hardly sneaky when it’s required by law, as stated in the excerpt. VW already makes cars in the US.

>>>Why are you offended by this? I think price transparency is a great thing. We should see how much government is costing us.>>>

You mean how many jobs foreign Government with their tariffs and cheap labor “cost us?”

Exactly. And, I find it humorous that VW is announcing their “sneaky” plan. Now how is that sneaky? 🙄🙄

Many of the German automakers used slave labor during WWII, if I’m not mistaken.

“ Remind me to cross Volkswagon off my list of potential new car to buy. Get outta here.........”

I was thinking Passat. Not any more

Truth in labelling and no problem with them doing that.

How does this "get back at Trump"? It tends to get people not to buy Volkswagens.

My last but one car was a VW. Manufactured in the USA.

Great. They should buy an American vehicle instead.

Most of German industry used slave labor during the Nazi regime.
After the war Germany used Turkish slaves instead.

A good reminder not to buy their cars.

Be sure to remind us how much Germany’s tariffs directly or indirectly cost the American consumer

An extra $5k prices Volkswagon out of all their chosen markets.

Even if they blame it on POTUS.

I believe Hyundai and Toyota are both manufactured in the USA. Maybe not all models, but many of the most popular models.

Yes, indeed. That is a very ugly chapter in their history.

It can be argued that they had no choice. After all, the Nazi government had the ultimate authority. But how cooperative were these automakers ? What did they do to make conditions for their laborers easier?

Their record is not so good in that regard.

I wonder what their market share is… I don’t see many. I had a 1990 GTI, and the only thing it was good at was shedding mystery pieces of plastic that always cost about $50 to replace.

Of the plethora of factoids that arise when discussing Germany and Volkswagen, these two come to mind first.

- Volkswagen embraced the insane EV fraud

=When AlGore started pushing the guilt trip regarding the Globull Hoax, Volkswagen actually had a banner on their web pages to sooth the conscience of the useful idiots, and young skulls full of mush. You could “donate” to plant a tree, offsetting your use of the evil hydrocarbons. How much of these “donations” flowed to AlGore and his minions? How many trees were actually planted? None of your business!
