Well, I’ll agree with you that far. Baez is - for the lack of a better word - a dunce politically. But her concert there supported the Czech anti-communist opposition.
I just don’t put her in the same category as Jane Fonda or Angela Davis. If you disagree, that’s fine. I respect that.
This looks quite a bit along the lines of Jane Fonda's infamous shtick.
In 1972 Baez traveled to North Vietnam during Nixon's controversial "Christmas Bombings" on Hanoi and Haiphong (official named Operation Linebacker II). Baez produced this protest album about that trip, released in 1973. She was also involved in other forms of protest, such as Martin Luther King's March on Washington in 1963 and the Moratorium to End the War in Vietnam on 15 October 1969; the Draft Resistance, an organisation run by her then husband David Harris. Moreover, from 1964, Baez refused to pay 60% of her taxes, which she claimed went towards armaments, and the Vietnam War.Bomb shelter vs. anti-aircraft gunsights, six to one, half a dozen of the other.
My Random Seq. No. was 213 so I knew I would never have been drafted, but I enlisted in 1974 with a delayed report date in 1975. Saigon fell half way through Basic Training.
Angela Davis was the real criminal instead of posing for pictures
“I need to watch “Lethal Weapon” again.”
I do not want to spoil the video for you but I laughed so hard my sides were hurting. It is toward the beginning of the movie. As an undercover cop he tries to buy drugs from a dealer. They say they want “1” for the deal. He counts out “100.00” then the dealer says, “NO, that’s “1000.” That is when the fun starts. ;-)
