“1. The scale of government waste is worse than anyone imagined.”
I doubt it is worse than I imagined. For decades I have been using 5% as the part of government that should exist - the remaining 95% being waste. Is Elon Musk saying it’s worse than that? If so, then I stand corrected - it’s worse than I imagined.
FEMA has confirmed that 3,500 American households will lose Transitional Sheltering Assistance, just days before the worst winter storm rolls in. Videos show a car line “a mile-long” for portable heaters and propane. FEMA’s infamous $750 loans to US disaster areas are still available.
On Friday, October 20th, 2023, the Biden Administration sent a Supplemental Funding Request to the Congress that contains key priorities for the American Jewish community:
$14.3 Billion in Emergency assistance to Israel: This emergency assistance will bolster Israel’s ability to defend herself and replenish vital defense systems, including the Iron Dome and David’s Sling missile defense programs.
Biden increased Funding for FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP): Vulnerable Jewish communities are in a state of elevated readiness and have already been forced to increase their security measures.
FEMA’s Nonprofit “Security Grant Program” helps ensure the safety and security of Jewish institutions. The increased funding included in Biden’s Supplemental Budget Request will help bolster Jewish community’s capacity to protect itself at this challenging time.
The Social Security Death Index is the gold standard tool used by legitimate Registrars of Voters to purge dead voters from the rolls.
The Deep State Dems hadn’t tagged 20 million dead people as such in the SS database.
What a coincidence.
” The scale of government waste is worse than anyone imagined.”
Nope! We all knew.
That's what Musk found at Twitter. He solved the problem by firing half the people.
In the federal government, much more than half the people are doing nothing and can be fired.
This country is in a civil war (financially and ideologically). We cannot lose. We must not lose.
Good summary.
I hope he is right about Bondi—I really want to be the one who is wrong about her.
Mars is easier. At least until the day comes when we can order the materials for O’Neill cylinders from Space Depot, for delivery by Amazon Planetary, and assembly by illegal Mexican work crews.
I saw a short clip from the show. IMO, Elon looked exhausted. I’ll have to watch the whole thing.
I know believe that the senior members of Congress are actual secret billionaires it you add up how much they own with their NGOs.
No way trillions of dollars disappear and you just under up with millionaires.
[ransomnote: “There’s a 56 second clip of Musk saying he thinks Patel and Bondi are great, but they just got there, and they are in a hostile environment. He thinks we should give them a little slack there and says it’s like you’re the captain of a ship and everyone around you was until now, your mortal enemy.]
I agree with this. Folks on here have been too quick to turn on AG Bondi. It’s been getting worse by the day.
They don’t take into account what Musk said here.
“Musk believes we have about 15 such opportunities (roughly 30 years) to establish a self-sufficient civilization on Mars before Earth potentially faces civilization collapse.”
Mankind has no practical (or even impractical, frankly) way to shield astronauts from the kind and quantity of flesh- and brain-cooking cosmic rays they will inevitably absorb on their way to Mars, on Mars, or on their way back from Mars.
Why are we entertaining this fantasy?
Why are we supposed to trust Musk?
Your point is valid with current technology.
We still need major advances in nanotechnology/materials technology to address these issues—hopefully maybe only ten years away...
Actually, no. When O’Neill proposed it, it was doable at that time. It makes the ISS look like a tinker toy and would truly permanently put man into space. With that space station we could easily launch from the moon or space station orbit to access the asteroid belt for mining, the moon for water, etc. No gravity well.
Bkmrk
Sure sounds like Musk held back on Epstein. Didn’t even acknowledge the blackmail and the intel agencies responsible for it.
I agree. I just don’t mind keeping people occupied, and learning in the process.
I read O’Neill’s book when it came out. His cylinder habitations in space were doable in concept, but they would have taken many years of development and sustainment at a prohibitive cost with no clear economic value when accomplished. I believe that continues to be so. For all the promotion by NASA, the ISS is of at best negligible economic value.
