In the Ntl Portrait Gallery, I believe.

They smeared all of Clinton’s victims too. Hillary and ilk are enablers.

22 years old. I have kids that age. Not a leap that she did what she did.

Painter confirms: Bill Clinton’s portrait has a reference to Lewinsky’s infamous blue dress

FP Archives • March 3, 2015, 16:37:24 IST

A Philadelphia artist has disclosed that his museum portrait of former President Bill Clinton contains a shadow reference to Monica Lewinsky’s infamous blue dress.

Nelson Shanks told the Philadelphia Daily News that a shadow beside Clinton is a literal reference to the dress and a symbolic nod to the shadow the affair cast on his presidency.

“If you look at the left-hand side of it there’s a mantle in the Oval Office and I put a shadow coming into the painting,” Shanks told the newspaper. “The Clintons hate the portrait,” he said. “They want it removed from the National Portrait Gallery. They’re putting a lot of pressure on them.”

The National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, commissioned the 2006 painting and had it on display until about three years ago. It’s one of 55 images of Clinton that rotate on and off display, spokeswoman Bethany Bentley said.

She said she is unaware of any pressure from the Clintons to have it removed from the collection. Nor had she heard the artist previously comment on his use of imagery. “That’s the first time we’ve heard of those comments,” Bentley said. A Clinton spokesman did not immediately return an email message seeking comment.

The stained dress became a piece of evidence in Ken Starr’s special investigation of the 42nd president.

Shanks, 77, has painted Princess Diana, Pope John Paul II and other luminaries. He has two pieces currently on display at the portrait gallery, one of opera singer Denyce Graves and the other of the four female Supreme Court justices.

Imagine 30 years have gone by and you’ve learned nothing and can’t move on with your life.

Can something have been ‘taken from you’ when you willingly gave it away?

Yep. Everyone makes excuses for the wrongs they’ve done in the past. The true testament to character, if someone has truly changed, is marked by apology and outward introspection.

'There was so much collateral damage for women of my generation to watch a young woman to be pilloried on the world stage, to be torn apart for my sexuality, for my mistakes, for my everything.'

She learned the hard way just how nasty and brutal those political creations in Washington are.

Nah, It never got back to that same level it was before Clinton did it. Not sure how old you are, but I lived through it. It has never gotten back to that level of nuttiness. Now other crap has gotten a lot more nutty...especially the trans thing (pun intended)

It funny you default to I must believe Clinton is innocent because I hold Monica responsible for her actions. Its an assinine assuption on your part.

Did you ever think I might hold both of them responsible? Apparently not. But in the context of this article it was all about a pity party for her and her blame shifting and ducking her choices and responsibility in all this. Because shes been blame shifting and playing the victim card for decades.
