I’d say most of them. NATO is a big deal in Europe because that’s where most of the money is spent. In the US, not so much. Even back in Cold War days it was common to hear people complaining about the number of troops we had stationed in Germany. Most Americans don’t see how NATO affects their lives.

In the halls of congress I’d agree. But among the American people… you’d have to show me. I was very much alive and kicking back then and I don’t recall anyone ever singing the praises of NATO. I recall many wondering why their sons were sent to Germany to play chicken with the Russians when only the British seemed to stand with us.
