The answer is “yes” we have, but it’s not because all the possible combinations have been used up, it’s because maybe 1/3 of the possible combinations are eligible for use.

Aside from the first 5 numbers not being random, there are combos that are not used. For example triple repeats (“000” or “777”) are not used. (The rules on this and others have changed over the decades.)

It’s been roughly half a month he’s been at this.

My experience working has been that the victim is left High and dry. One told me that the Social Security Administration refuses to reissue a new social security number but does nothing about the many illegals working under that same number. Another said she was suject to an audit by the IRS due to having high wages reported under her SSN.

Just watch... some judge will jump in and say the billions paid out fraudulently must continue.

Since the Democrats are insisting DOCE is exploiting the institutions they are supposed to be investigating, Musk and Trump should publicly invite Schumer, Pelosi, AOC etc to accompany the DOCE investigators and Treasury personnel. It all should be documented on video so stories / accusations can’t be changed after their visit. Let the Libs point out where DOCE is undermining the American People and let DOCE personnel point out the obvious fraud in real time. Let’s see who emerges with egg on their face.

DOD will be big, but compared to SS, Medicare, Medicaid and welfare payments like snap, DOD will be “drop in the bucket”

"I think DOD is the big one."

Who remembers the $400 hammers, and the $640 toilet seats (and later, the $10,000 toilet lids)?

De-Duplication is an IT phrase. It means reviewing saved data so files only have one source stored or in the system so all references to it go to that one file, rather than multiple copies or instances.

I like that the concept is being applied to Social Security. Imagine using the same social # for hundreds if not thousands of payments.

Somebody had to approve the first fraudulent use of someone else’s social # to get an instance into the system. That’s the big news on this. It indicates management failure or outright fraud!

Right after the Democrats invoke the “third rail of politics” and start screaming (for the 1,216th time) that Republicans are going to take away your Social Security payments, leaving you to starve in the street.

Fraud IN S.S.??

S.S. is an illegal (govt having ZERO Const. authority to ‘save’ FOR {X}, let alone provide ‘insurance’ of ANY type), broke (part of $210T+ in ‘unfunded liabilities), on day one...like ALL Ponzi schemes.

I should NEVER have seen the light of day. The next best time to abolish it would be NOW.

Sorry, everyone, you got snookered via govt. You get nothing ‘back’, you DIDN’T ‘pay into’...ANYTHING, nothing is/was ‘yours’ to begin. Welcome to the (painful) reminder for the definition of a TAX...& illegal govt programs+

Doesn’t take a math wiz. 9 digits. 000-00-0000 through 999-99-9999 equals 1 billion unique numbers

“the social security database is not de-duplicated”

As a software architect I understand how this happens - BUT the shear lack of effort to find duplicates and fraud is beyond incompetence, most likely deliberate.

It’s like the left has turned on a thousand facets, each one small but with so many there’s a healthy constant flow of funding to them.

A good database design doesn’t use smart numbers for keys. The duplication would be checked via a process while adding new ones, etc. and the ssn will be duplicated for payments to and from.

I finally figured it out.
The fed have systems that are so old they don’t have the features that even 20 year old operating systems have.
And each agency has there own old outdated system.
They cannot talk to each other.
THIS is how the whole house of cards stays afloat.

At least, this is how it’s done here in Michigan.

Trump needs to put the numbers in billions up on a huge white board and have the Mike Meyers phrase “100 billion dollars” airing repeatedly while they show this numbers list!

Well the 1 billion (actually just 1 short of a billion unless you also assign zero) would be true if no other rules were imposed, just assign each in order, but the power that be
were not up to snuff on their logic.

If the 1st 3 determine area of the country and the next 2
determine month and year issued then for any given region
there are only 9,999 unique numbers.

That’s unique per region and month/year anyways.

The database rule I learned (too late) is you never assign
rules to the DB keys.
