The original Nuuk runway is only 3000 feet. They either added a new 7000 foot runway or built a new airport. Commercial jets had to fly into an airport ~200 miles to north. The United flights are only going to occur during the peak summer travel/tourist season.
sure you meant ‘misspelled’, right?
or, are you indicating an affinity with the 100 year dying Brit worldscape which refuses to go into that good night?

Is there anything to see or do there?
I think Trump should lease half of Greenland and use it for deportations.
I know someone who served there in the 80s. He enjoyed it.
Yeah that’s probably right. I don’t pay that close attention to it. United Airlines is doing some strange routes. Including New York to Greenland. They’re also starting Tokyo to Ulanbaatar, Mongolia which seems odd but hey if they can make that work then go for it.
After Northwest Airlines got absorbed into Delta, their Tokyo Narita base got divided up between Delta and United and they each flew a handful of east Asia-Tokyo routes until other aircraft could do it direct from North America or it stopped being financially worthwhile. I flew Tokyo-Bangkok on United in 2005 and Tokyo-Taipei in 2012 on Delta but both of those routes are long gone.
