The environmental laws are there, even if they are stupid. They aren’t going to be suspended until the USA is in an absolute emergency.
But it is more than that. Scranton could increase production, but they need more factory space. But the Scranton railyards are designated a “historic site” so the footprint of the building can’t be expanded, as it would intrude on the historically significant railway shunting tracks.
I'm not sure I'm smart enough to figure that all out.
But, I am smart enough to know that maintaining and staffing almost 800 military bases around the world, paying over $300 million for one copy of a B1 bomber or almost $100 million for a copy of an F35 is somewhere between outrageous and ludicrous.
Especially true when held next to a $36 trillion dollar debt that grows every single day.
How long can this craziness go on?
Many of the environmental restrictions are regulations originating from EPA. Trump will eliminate most of them. The Administrative State will be reined in thanks to SCOTUS rulings.
Basically it goes on as long as DC can borrow and print without inflation or devaluation. Which is until the $US is the international currency.
A lot of countries are upping their 155 production, as is America, and even Ukraine is producing millions of various shells now, including some 155.
The American need is not so great, we aren’t planning on Ukraine versus Russia type warfare.
“”””But, I am smart enough to know that maintaining and staffing almost 800 military bases around the world””””
We don’t have over 800 military bases around the world, the organization that started that claim lists little Guam as having 54 “bases” and Puerto Rico with 34, Japan having 120, etc.
Okay.
How many bases are there around the world, then?
“A lot of countries are upping their 155 production, as is America, and even Ukraine is producing millions of various shells now, including some 155.

You can plan for whatever you want, but the enemy gets a vote.
If air dominance doesn’t happen due to Russian AD, this is going to end up on the ground where Russia dominates.
They are up to 80K artillery shells PER DAY on some days, and that is just going to blow NATO off the battle field.
Russia also implemented a 25x increase in Krasnopol guided shells. Meanwhile, Excalibur as been withdrawn from Ukraine due to ineffectiveness caused by jamming.
All the fancy missiles of the West HIMARS, ATACM, Storm Shadow... production per year is in the hundreds and announced “increases” in production are 100 or 200 more.
This is delusional. American military dominance is over, despite the enormous size and waste of the US military budget.
I’m not interested in NATO countries including Canada dragged into yet another losing war by futile BoomerCons when there hasn’t been a winning war in their lifetime.
You rant against America and the West but the thrust of your rants seem to be a call for more defense spending by America to close the weapons gaps that you are always claiming exists between us and our superior enemies, such as Russia.
Your theme on this thread seems to be that although Russia is up to their neck in alligators against Ukraine and has been for years, they could handle us and NATO fairly easily since we don’t have anything that can match their immense capabilities, even though we have been watching them in action for years in Ukraine.
Do you think we have 54 bases in Guam which is 30 miles long and 9 miles wide? the source for your numbers counts them that way.
USA spends plenty on defence. More than the next half dozen put together.
Although on a PPP comparison it’s not so much.
USA #1 problem is a lack of industrial base because it has been outsourced.
I don’t believe the USA currently has the textile and shoe production capability to produce millions of uniforms, if need be. So in any attrition war, the USA military ends up bare-foot ragged in civilian clothes like the 1865 Confederacy.
The other problem is super-$$$$ weapons systems designed for Prime Contractor profits, not actual attrition war agains peer opponents.
The production time for many of the exotic materials they use are so long that they are never going to be mass produced no matter how much is spent.
eg. carbon fiber parts - 30 hours in the autoclave
titanium forging diffusion bonded - also 30 hours in the vacuum furnace
jet engine compressor blades and turbine blades directionally cast in a single crystal 16 or 24 at a time. ~10 hours in the vacuum furnace.
Not only is this stuff colossally expensive (a single turbine blade on one of these military jets is now ~$20,000 EACH, and there are 200+ on each engine) but cycle times of 20 hours, 30 hours means that any kind of high volume production is just impossible.
The USA has take 60+ years to destroy its industrial base. It would take almost that long to rebuild it, even if it had 6 Trumps in a row, all of them dedicated to it.
More realistically, the USA needs to recognize it is like the UK after WW1. Take the L. Accept its reduced status in the world and try to rebuild what once was.
You keep describing the only answer for keeping the poor United States and the 31 other NATO nations from having to fight the rich, glorious Russians barefoot, barely clothed, without winter gear and without weapons, or air forces or navies, to increase military spending, or for America and the West to accept the Russians and Chinese as our and the world’s new masters.
You still haven’t explained why a foreigner spends years here constantly posting that same message of American and Western man’s hopelessness and surrender in the face of Russian superiority, and oddly while we watch Russia actually being consumed on the battlefield by a little nobody country next door to it.
Second request. Please be so kind as to answer my original question to you....
How many bases do we have if not 800?
What a ludicrous, ignorant, and warped statement! My friend, it's time to move into the 21st century. The time is long past when we could invade, bully, and dictate to the world our version of "how to live."
Hell, we can't even manage our own country -- much less any other country. You know, unsustainable $36 trillion national debt, out of control tyrannical government (weaponizing justice system, locking up so-called Jan 6 protestors, locking down the economy for two weeks to flatten the curve, mandating COVID drugs, LBGQTVXYZ, etc.), stolen elections, crime-ridden cities, electing brain dead leaders, and on and on.
It's time to face reality. The rest of the world has now grown up, and they see our decadence and stupidity -- and they are quite effectively doing something about it. We're rapidly becoming a second-rate power -- and the other side is not.
and oddly while we watch Russia actually being consumed on the battlefield by a little nobody country next door to it.
Get real. That third-world country, Russia, is fighting the best that US/NATO can muster. The notion they are fighting a "little nobody" country is nuts, and we all know it -- regardless of your propaganda.
And oh, by the way, how well did we do with "nobody countries" like Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan? Those little excursions sure turned out well. Right??
Wake up, you idiot.
LOL, I’m not here to do that research for you, I am pointing out that your source defines an American military base in a way that vastly inflates the number, for example claiming that Guam has 54 of those bases.
Why won’t you answer something so simple as, do you think, in your opinion, that little Guam, that so many freepers have served on and lived on, has 54 American military bases?
Actually Russia is fighting a little nobody country and not NATO which is merely doing some of the material support of the victim nation and isn’t even there.
The difference between Russia in Ukraine and America in the wars where politicians withdrew our troops, is that our military was not losing on the battlefield, Russia conducted a full invasion of Ukraine to conquer and absorb it and now is in a desperate struggle to survive on the battlefield and come out of this invasion with 20 or 25% percent of the victim neighbor’s territory, and this battlefield debacle is happening on their own border, a battlefield that they can literally drive to, it isn’t across the world somewhere.
Okay. I've done my research and my fact that there are almost 800 military bases around the world stands.
If you have evidence indicating another count/fact show us!
It's real simple.
Alright, so like the source the claim is based on you agree with that source that America has 54 military bases on Guam.
Since you count bases like that then you can get to the 750 or 800 figure, personally I think it is absurd for you to claim that Guam has 54 American military bases, but it is your opinion so enjoy your opinion.
With a weak military, ships unable to go to sea due to lack of crews, in this environment people want us to go to war? Out Traannie army is to face down Russian Marines or Chinese PLA forces? Who is thinking this out?
