I prefer his follow-up that did not quite make Top 40…Canned Ham. When I get my own radio show, that will be my opening theme.
i would give a shout out to “Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)” by Steam and “Timothy” by the Buoys.

Seasons In The Sun

And here’s the original more dark French version. The lyrics were rewritten.
The first version of the song was recorded by Brel. Set to a marching rhythm, it tells of a man dying of a broken heart and shows him saying his last farewells first to his close friend Emile, then to a priest, next to an acquaintance named Antoine, and finally to his wife, who has cheated on him numerous times with Antoine. Despite knowing of Antoine being his wife’s lover, he wishes no ill upon him but tells him to take care of his wife.

“Come on, Eileen” by Dexy’s Midnight Runners. I really, REALLY despised that song...and hated the video even more.

Norman Greenbaum (81) has been living quite comfortably off of that song.
I heard he just passed away. I hope he is getting theology lessons now.
