Just incompetence.

They tried to defeat him politically. Failed.
They tried to destroy him in the courts. Failed.
They tried to kill him, twice. Failed again.
When he gets back into office there will be hell to pay.
Whole sale firings.
Do like Clinton and fire every federal prosecutor.
Rain hell down on these people.
One approach they haven’t tried, apparently, is to put a professional assassin place. Routh was close enough for an easy shot, and would have gotten away if not for a concerned citizen. He’d have gotten the shot off if he hadn’t given away his presence.
A pro won’t take the job if he’s likely to be caught. Therefore, large crowds are out. They’ve tried Trump’s and Vance’s planes already.
Interesting that no paparazzi went to the 6th hole and bothered Routh. Surprised they didn’t work as spotters. Maybe SS kept them away.
