I’ve never had it work for me on anything from any manufacturer, and no it wasn’t a “faulty system” and yes I had it set on auto. It’s just a “good idea” that doesn’t work.
Repeating its intended function doesn’t change that.
Not when the outside temp changes to hotter or colder it still has to be reset.
NO way if your in the mountains and set it to 80 then hit the desert it won’t set to 70 by it’s self period.

Mine have always worked as advertised. Set it and forget it and it maintains the set temperature all year long regardless of outside temperature.
Cars and drivers simply do not need all the electronics in today’s cars. There is no reason decent cars cost 50,000.
All this crap finds its way into the current prices, it’s not needed. Plus, the cost to fix this crap.....

It's not supposed to change the set temperature. It maintains the set temperature. I would never set it to 80 because that's too hot. I set it to 70 and it maintains that temperature regardless of the outside temperature. That's the way it's supposed to work. The system can't read your mind and change itself. That's not what Auto means. It simply maintains the cabin temperature at the level you set it to.
It’s not supposed to change the set temperature.
That’s the point you still need a co pilot or take your eyes off the road to do it or pull off they road.
The older system 50’s 60”s all you had to do was slide the lever over one way ot the other of of then flip the A/C/ on and not have to take your eyes off the road.
News cars & trucks piss poor engineering ay best.

Exactly! It's not supposed to change the set temperature. You set it and forget it. No matter how much the outside temperature changes, the set temperature in the cabin stays the same, so there is no need for anyone to change anything. The temperature in the cabin is automatically maintained to what you set it at. That's why it's called Auto temperature. No need for a copilot or for you to take your eyes off the road like you do for the old fashioned manual system. You don't even need to take your hand off the steering wheel because there's nothing to adjust because months ago you set the temperature where you wanted it.
It’s not supposed to change the set temperature.
It’s why it’s a flawed and useless system automakers have a orgasm with useless toys and cup holders.
