I sure don’t.
When that store closes the community will complain about living in a “food desert” and not seeing the connection between this and the closing.
As a white conservative straight male I can not solve their problem (even suggesting I can makes me “racist”).
There is an old joke that ask how many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb. Answer - only one but the light bulb has to want to change.
The problems in black communities can not be solved by politicians or even by police. The community has to want change, and the community has to enforce those changes.
Until then they will continue to suffer.
Apu ! Is he still around or did PC do him in ?
Apu is my favorite cartoon minority outside of Kahn Souphanousinphone.
They probably got rid of Apu because he was a Second Amendment supporter.
You should see the long list I have, I’ll try to remember to post it later.
THAT ONE DAY delivery is about to be spoken about in past tense.
USPS is already saying that ANY customer more than 50 miles from a “MAIN SORTING FACILITY” will have at least 1 more day added to delivery.
I am near RENO-—WHICH is a MAIN SORTING Facility -—BUT I am more than 50 miles. MY mail has already been spotty.
I Mailed a letter to Los Angeles on a Tuesday & another on the Saturday of the same week to the same person. BOTH arrived in same mail 2 days ago.
I have not located the list of those “MAIN SORTING CENTERS”.
Ok so the guy who voices Apu stopped doing so in 2019, yet the Apu character appears in the background with no speaking rolls.
Sounds like Dr Nick did a lobotomy on him.
What percentage of people currently have Amazon Prime? Is it even 1% of households?
There is a certain plateau where they simply won’t be able to do it.
The store clerks need to be armed with 12ga. scatter guns.
Well played sir!
Two blocks from my house heard the helicopters last night this is the same store they ransacked back in August but hey keep voting dem for all that joy
Good idea for a store to have bait stolen increase stock asap.
ANd just a few hours after this ransacking, some enterprising minority yute ROBBED THEM AT GUNPOINT
Lots of places deliver around here, especially groceries - I see the trucks in my neighborhood at all hours of the day - elderly relatives across the street have their groceries delivered and my pharmacy delivers for free. Ditto for my daughter’s neighborhood in San Francisco - not just Amazon - Ralphs and other grocery stores deliver. When my mother was unable to go out any longer, my sister ordered her groceries all the way from Colorado - to be delivered in California. Same Day.
I think that will become the new business model - having things delivered rather than going out to get them - and avoiding the hassle of finding someone with a key to unlock the shelves. Since the cost of labor is so high here, many places run on skeleton crews, making it difficult to find someone - and then find the key.
SO many things are locked up now, increasingly more every single day - bought a new hedge trimmer at Home Depot- had to find someone to help me (not easy) - who had to go and get the key (took 10 minutes) -he came back, wrong key! Had to wait longer until he could find the right key - took at least 45 minutes just to get the device out. OR I could order it off of Amazon - or Home Depot - and have it delivered, or brought out to my car for pick-up (as my brother does with HD).
At my local stores now, it’s personal care items, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies - seems it’s more and more every day, all locked up. Far easier to just go on my phone and order it from Amazon or the store app.
That just shows that Malcolm X was right: the problems in the black community can only be solved by the black community.
