Which descendants pay?

They could use the 1864 census of slave holders, look for their descendants now, and make them pay, but only a small percentage of whites Christians then owned slaves with it being other religions people in the US owning up to 44% of slaves.

Neither major party was "responsible" for slavery. Neither party was around when colonists began importing slaves into North America.

The Democratic Party was founded in 1828, long after slavery was an established fact.
