Sarcastically, I was going say the guy sounds like some crazed Nazi to me, the sad part is the projection the major parties in Europe who are sounding and acting like true Nazis.
Politically opposing a pipeline is one thing.
Destroying a functioning pipeline of a third country to influence your war with another country is casus belli. Germany has gone to war for less.
'Oceania was at war with Eurasia; therefore Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia.' - George Orwell
The Ukraine War has rendered you into a dogmatic, warmongering, neocon nutjob.
we need the AfA...
And they welcomed the invaders in.
remember when women who “dressed a certain way” were accused of asking to be raped? is holding up signs welcoming refugees any different?
Funny how you say that when I said absolutely nothing about Ukraine, and have no problem taking my comments out of context. Do you always jump to conclusions?
The term “neocon” is so 2000s—and remember, it was an epithet used by the left and still used by them; bad enough it was given a “definition” by Irving Kristol. We all know that the vast majority of the GOP are liberals who are on board 100 percent with the Democratic agenda; or at least I hope we all know that.
Are you also a never-Trumper? Trump was against Nord Stream 2, remember; meanwhile, Biden gave it the green light. Trump called the EU an “enemy”; do you regard that communistic entity as an ally?
I’ll wait until you try to achieve some coherence, and hope you make some effort to restrain yourself from lashing out blindly as pro-Constitution Americans ought to do. It’s still the case that those who ignore history are fated to repeat it, and when Germany and Russia make nice, that always foreshadows war—always.
No. The very existence of the pipeline is an act of war. There is no dancing around the issue.
So Germany and Russia aren’t allowed trade agreements.
How gunboat diplomacy of you. look up hubris.
Wow. The last thing a conservative should be is ignorant of history. The left loves ignorance of history.
Marx also was fond of “trade agreements”, just to fill you in. He was the biggest proponent of free trade, in fact, because he firmly believed that it “hastens the social revolution”.
PS. The phrase “gunboat diplomacy” is another leftist concoction, used by them to even pillory defensive foreign policy by the US. Watch them call Trump a gunboat diplomat.
PPS. You are attacking Trump’s policy on what you loosely term “trade agreements”. Another never-Trumper?
A trade agreement is an agreement between two sovereign countries for mutual benefit. You obviously don’t believe that Germany is a nation who can make decisions for itself. The blowing up of the pipeline was a major political event in Germany, and now Germany has halted aid to Ukraine , and the pipeline explosion investigation results was a major factor.
I guess the US can pay for another war in Europe. China is the emerging superpower we should be countering. My sister in law’s family is from Maripol, her mother still exists there. No one in the Family has anything good to say about the tyrant Zelensky.
Okay . . . your comeback is a red herring and rehashing of left-wing propaganda. Have a nice day, in that case.
20+ year freeper, and my name doesn’t mean Troll, a DTTTTTTTTTT to you.
I chose my name as an irony. And as I’ve discovered around here, it takes more than longevity to be a true Freeper, with all due respect. Thanks for another red herring and answering none of my questions.
It’s funny how a classical education becomes left wing propaganda in your world view. I’m from a time when you actually had to read the source books and not wikipedia. You should read “You can’t do business with Hitler.” a contemporary book written by Douglas Miller, US commercial attache in berlin from 24 to 39. It pretty much lays out all the pitfalls of a free society doing business with a totalitarian regime. Once again, when you have
ea question instead of bloviation, please share it. Troll
Now you’re using another red herring. And you are using more ad hominem. If you’re wondering why I do not take you seriously, then your use of such logical fallacies is why and it’s also why my tone must seem high-handed to you.
I won’t discount your book recommendation out of hand, but it seems that you are too invested in defending the actual national socialists here. This thread is about Alternative für Deutschland, for the record, and their dogged insistence on holding onto the social market economy (the basis for the European Union) shows what they really are about.
I will throw a few book recommendations your way too: “Germany Plots with the Kremlin” by T.H. Tetens is a good one, and it’s applicable to today’s situation. I frequently cite “The Naked Communist” by W. Cleon Skousen, which of course has way, way more than the oft-quoted list of 45 communist goals for the USA. Can I presume you’ve read “The Conscience of a Conservative” by Barry Goldwater (ghostwritten by L. Brent Bozell Jr.)?
You seem like all you want to do is antagonize. Who’s the troll? Notwithstanding, I’m still grateful for the recommendation.
I’m sorry you can’t accept criticism. If you want me to retract my prior observations, then retract some of your previous rants that are in defense of the EU system, which is national socialist. Otherwise, like I said before, have a nice day.
