I’m looking at YouBoob stuff on Edge, while I do FR and other sites on Firefox. I hope the separation works.
I’m guessing so. This spyware script is apparently something that YouBoob itself attaches to your browser when you look at a video. Could possibly be a problem with Google itself, too (parent company of YouBoob).
“Could possibly be a problem with Google itself.”
Oh absolutely, where there is Youtube there is Google. They are always hand in hand.
And yes I believe the issues carry through no matter where you watch them. We had to stop embedding youtube videos and twitter posts in our site. They were imposing too many dangerous scripts into our pages. We had a choice, let them do it or stop embedding them. So we said no. Now we can’t even follow a link to them and they are attaching crap. It really is time to mass boycott them but no one will do it.
Well that was depressing.
For the young folk, listen up, pay attention. For old folk like me, I don’t know what to tell you.
I cleared my caches on both browsers, and I’ll use Dogpile for searches, assuming no association with Google somehow.
Did you say Twitter/X was also inserting dangerous scripts?
“Did you say Twitter/X was also inserting dangerous scripts?”
Twitter/X is now utilizing 3rd party API scripts they did not before. Now included are:
…cdn-apple.com
…google.com
So it is just as bad as going directly to Google. They are acting as a proxy gateway for Google and Apple. Why Apple? They have no business having their company in the mix of tracking from X. Musk has made some kind of deal with Apple.
