I find it quite shocking the “choice” is legal there... Or they were able to find someone to do it within the law.

Great, that works for you and you have family to fall back on. My wife and I never had children. Not from lack of trying or desire to have them. It just didn’t happen for us. She’s older and not in the best of health now, but she would not go the euthanasia path, and I will take care of her with every ounce of my strength. Me? I am not going to sit around and wait to be forced into substandard care by people who hate their jobs, and an administration who will seize my assets to pay for it. I will not become a burden on someone. If and when the time comes, I would like to have it as an option. That is my choice and not a “chicken” move. I watched my uncle die of cancer. A 220 pound marine who was at Iwo Jima reduced to an 88 pound skeleton who couldn’t function. That’s not happening to me.

The risk is that weak and sick elderly could be pressured into suicide.
Maybe gently, over years.
Right to die may sound good at first but the potential for abuse is obvious.

I get the burden aspect. I told the wife if I don’t recognize her some day, point me in a direction in the woods and tell me to walk.

I don’t want to burden anyone ever, have the living will and good insurance (at least now) and covered by the VA. When the time comes she can put me in VA care.. they’ll kill me for free and it won’t be euthanizia.

Life gets more and more difficult as you get older. I was thinking about this this morning, and how my mother would say that old age is for the brave.

We don’t have the right to take our lives or anyone else’s.

My concern is where this leads. We know how laws change over time. First it is voluntary...and then it could become mandatory.

I don’t understand why they didn’t have objectives and goals beyond their married lives. And, to commit suicide at 70? These people must live in a culture that doesn’t value human life. My God, my wife and I have full and productive lives at 70 and 73. If one of us were to go, we would want the other to carry on for the sake of our children and their families, our friends, and to continue our own legacy in general. We joke about living well beyond 100. We eat right, exercise, and milk the healthcare system for everything its worth. We have so much we want to do yet to come!

“Duo-euthenasia”?

The Europeans have to get with the time, baby - it’s a “BOGO” or “2-fer”, with a 40% friends and family discount!

Gonna be a bunch of folks burning in hell for these things.

I think it’s one thing to “pull the plug” (and let “nature” take its course) on one who is in the death spiral. But it is quite another to actively kill them.

It’s a fine line. It’s a decision best made by Almighty God, not man.

Makes ya want to celebrate by going out and helping with a few abortions.

The CDC is pushing COVID vaxxxxxxxxxinations for the fall. The couple that gets vaxxxxxxxxxxinated together can both have their lives shortened significantly but they probably won't die together, unless they both die within a couple of weeks of their vaxxxxxxxxxinations which is the most likely time the vaxxxxxxxxxination kills.

This is true. The concept of “enough” will more often decided on a case by case basis.
