Best speculation I’ve seen is that DS is trying to counter inevitable appeal and reversal so they’re setting the stage to back out before they’re fully exposed. Hard to tell what’s “real”
I’ll cease commenting on your posts, and please do not comment on mine. I’m done here.
Have any of you watched the two Chernobyl documentaries on Amazon Prime? I watched both and they were eye-opening. One was a documentary account using real footage from the time. (Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes) The other was a mini series that was very closely scripted along the actual events. ( Chernobyl mini series ) Both were excellent. I had no idea the horrific deaths that radiation poisoning caused. The pictures of that poor fireman (whose wife provided a lot of commentary) were truly disturbing.
Another thing that became very evident was that the Chernobyl disaster was hugely responsible for the collapse of the Soviet Union. The unbelievable cost of the whole thing wrecked their already teetering economy, plus the cat was out of the bag at that point. Once the entire populace became aware that everything was a lie, it was done.
Thank you so much for your information, pony girl.
I didnt know about those documentaries, and have Amazon Prime, so really appreciate your review and endorsement. I am off to check them out right this minute!
Thanks, I’ll check the videos out when I get a chance.
There’s something “off” about Raiklin. What it is, I can’t put a finger on. Hopefully I’m making an honest mistake, and he won’t turn out to be another Derek Johnson, Scott McKay, or Jan Halper-Hayes.
Logic-based and very possible. I wouldn't be surprised.

I saw both those shows. Very enlightening. And yes, it very much played a big part in the downfall of the Soviet Union. One that few talk about.
