Interesting. Congress could pass a law ending corporate welfare like this but if a state’s willing to do this the people have to stand up like they did in KC. Think of all the people who don’t care for sports. They shouldn’t pay.

Wizards owner tried to move to NoVa. Citizens revolted and basically said "NIMBY". Governor Youngkin was overconfident and thought he had a deal done.

So there's a backlash toward new stadiums built by public funds.

Rams stadium and Giants/stadium (plus few others) were privately funded.

So if the owners are that desperate, they can take out a loan to get a new stadium built.
