🤮
RDJ was excellent in Oppenheimer, as was Murphy.
I’m rooting for The Sound of Freedom....
Oh wait- the movie that beat The Godfather at the box office didn’t receive a single nomination....my bad
Is Will Smith there?
Homosexuals giving each other statues.
No John Waynes or Jimmy Stewarts in sight.
I have a native indian ceramic plate made by “Blue Corn”. She was Oppenheimer’s housekeeper in Los Alamos. It does not glow in the dark.
Watching for Christopher Nolan and Oppenheimer.
Who watches this crap?
The Holdovers, American Fiction and Past Lives are my rooting interests this year. Not that I do much rooting, but I’m ok with giving a marketing boost to the occasional good movies. My other passing interest is whether the industry is starting to self-correct a bit on wokeness. Reaching back a couple of years, I suspect that CODA beating out The Power of the Dog was due partly to the sane people in the industry (yes, there are some) having had enough. CODA winning was perhaps an early sign that we’re past peak woke. Nothing gave me heartburn last year. Fingers crossed this year.
Oppenheimer had some good points and I’m ok with it winning a nod or three. I’ve not seen Barbie but, like Oppenheimer, it was a great box office success, and I’m ok with the industry getting back to honoring movies that audiences actually wanted to see.
I enjoyed The Holdovers. I don’t recall anything woke about it.

I remember 50 years ago when I was a kid I cared about this.
Oppenheimer often used Sanskrit verses, and the Bhagavad Gita was special for him — but not in the way Christopher Nolan’s film depicts it

WHY ARE YOU WATCHING PEOPLE THAT HATE YOU?
Have a friend/client who won a Best Documentary Oscar, back in the 90’s. Held that sucker in my hand. (It was heavy!) Used to be a dream of mine since age 10, but got derailed to Broadcast TV as a career. No matter... It’s just not nearly the honor, glamour, and prestige it once was. My fault for missing the boat, though.
I'd like to see American Fiction. I've read that it very effectively skewers the white liberal gatekeepers of the publishing industry.
John mulaney coming up. He’ll provmb host next year. He did some awards show few weeks ago he was outstanding.
The only nominated movie I’ve seen is “The Holdovers.” It was very good!
Glad to see OPPENHEIMER winning a lot.
