Tut never looked black.

His grandmother sure did. (Tiy, wife of Amenhotep III.) However, there is abundant evidence from ancient Egyptian art to confirm that the Egyptians were not "black." They depicted Nubians with black color. By the time Alexander came along Egypt had been a civilization for more than 2000 years, and an empire by any measure had existed there a thousand years before Alexander. That means far-flung trading networks and that means a diversity of ethnicities; but the earliest depictions of the dynastic Egyptians were definitely not of sub-Saharan Africans.

The Old Kingdom didn’t start up until about 2600 bc.

The Archaic Period was before that around 3600 BC - however all the dates are based on various lists of Pharaohs, and one or more of these lists are known forgeries, yet they are still used.

As for the names in the lists - many of the early kings are unknown, others are unknown unknowns (part of their cartouches are missing), others have the same names, others have one name at one point and a different one at a point, others omitted for political reasons. In short, it is a confusing mess, but still standard Egyptology uses them for dates, which are likely completely wrong.

Another example is an optically stimulated luminescence date was taken from the Pyramid of Menkaure, only to turn out to be some hundreds of years older that the others, yet this was the newest one. More confusing still is the entire Gaza complex was built as one geometrical/mathematical unit, not separate structures built over time.

So 2600BC is far from a firm date, rather it is just a generally accepted date that keeps the current narrative intact - a narrative going back to Herodotus with just the edges tweaked, and the money from tourism pouring into Egyptian coffers.

When tracing the movements of peoples in that area its would be best to ignore any Egyptian dates as that will just make a mess later on.

Why won’t this be pinged, merely added to the ggg FRchive? The only source link cited was this one, from 2017:

The surprising ancestry of ancient Egyptians: First ever genome study of mummies reveals they were more Turkish and European than African
Researchers performed a detailed analysis of the DNA of ancient mummies
They found that ancient Egyptians were closely related to European populations
Traditional communities in the Levant and Neolithic Europe were close relatives
Study found that modern Egyptians share more ancestry with Sub-Saharan Africans than ancient Egyptians did

That comes from the Islamic slave trade from Africa. The Muslims’ castrated their male captives but did not similarly sterilize the female captives as they likely didn’t have the necessary medical knowledge/skills.

I think “African” is a wrong term, for genological and cultural reaons, to apply to all the people of the continent of Africa.

There are really two Africas in terms of peoples.

There are the peoples of Northern Africa that have always been more a part of the Mediterranean sphere than all the rest of Africa, and then there is the rest of Africa that became dominated by peoples unrelated to the Mediterranean sphere.

Egypt was always a North African (Mediterranean sphere) area. The Mediterranean sphere is wherefrom Egypt got its “European” connections.
