Only good thing is that the way CA and fedgov are going, more and more homes qualify as low income with no gas hookups, so they can burn wood.

CALIFORNIA! Can’t burn firewood in the winter. But they will make up for it by burning whole forests in the summer!

Truth

What a strange world we live in because comparing “emissions” from wood stoves to wildfires to volcanic eruptions is pointless.

My EPA approved catalytic stove burning dry wood produces 2.5g or less of particulates per hour. We have smoke season every year from wildfires where you are told to not be outside longer than 5 minutes and keep pets indoor while ash rains down on everything. Don’t even get me started on volcanoes.

This is insanity.

I’ve been heating with wood for 44 years. I get most of it from cleaning out the deadwood on the place thereby reducing the fire hazard.
