Waffle House is on the list. Pretty much says all you need to know.
Great Alaska Pizza Company is not even close to Moose’s Tooth, who also have great micro-brewery beers. Pipeline Stout. Just sayin.
Four Rivers BBQ in Florida? Florida is a BBQ wasteland. With all the great seafood in Florida they choose a BBQ place? Seriously.
Virginia is suspect but Tudors is everywhere in WV so I will have to try it.
They're a 24/7/365 operation. It used to be that when the contractor turned over the door keys for a new store, they threw them away!
Most of you probably already know about the FEMA Waffle House disaster level assessment, it has been discussed here multiple times.
Also, if you come in after 1AM without a firearm, they loan you one.
just kidding
I can vouch for Taylor’s Maid Rite’s in Iowa, you truly feel like you are in a 1950’s diner, because you are!
There is usually a nice turnstill on the end of the counter with lots of pie options.
As an aside, if you’re ever in Greenville, OH, they have an original Maid Rite and it is excellent.
Learned that the Taylor’s son was in WWII and he told his battle buddy, “if we get out of this alive, I will set you up with one of our restaurants.”
And he did.
Caution: If you are looking for a Maid Rite, make sure its an OLD and ORIGINAL location, (Greenville, OH, Grinnell, Newton, Muscatine and Marshalltown, IA). They were bought out recently and the new restaurants microwave the meat and it is NOT the same experience or taste!
Lucky Wishbone---I'll take a pass.
Stuff’ll kill ya.
Waffle House, Jersey Mike’s, and Whataburger are pretty well known and probably in more than one state already. I wonder how well-known the others are.
“Also, if you come in after 1AM without a firearm, they loan you one.”
🤣
WaWa’s too, and the last time I was there it was just another convenience store.
Colorado's Good Times burger and green chili fries look good.
I’ve lived in TN for 34 years. I’ve never heard of Pal’s Sudden Service.
Ah, the Lucky Fishbone. Now I’m hungry for a Pop Shrimp.
Oklahoma, Braum's, OK. Reasonably consistent
Texas, Whataburger, still OK, I'll drive out of my way for a vanilla malt there.
Arkansas, Slim Chickens, Good enough
Georgia, Waffle House?, must be some kind of decent food desert.
Made me laugh.
Well said
Looks it, too.
I’m a fan of Arby’s Reuben. Very solid for fast food. If you can find a store that properly toasts the bread on the griddle, they’re excellent.
I have to ask: What's the name "Pal's Sudden Service" about anyway? I spend a lot of time travelling in TN between Crossville and Johnson City visiting my two sons. I see a "Pal's Sudden Service" in one of the towns I go through, think it's Elizabethton?
Never stopped there, thought the building looked odd though there's always a line of cars around the building so I was thinking the food had to be good?
That's just wrong.
Cook Out has a long line of cars in the drive through at all hours of the day.
The Popeye’s next door has 1-2 cars in their drive through about 4-5 days a year. I don’t see how they stay in business.
