Because we keep voting for them.
Judging by your tag line, surely you understand that this has all been written, these things all need to happen and, in the end, the good guys win. Once you accept that, it doesn't eat so bad at you. Sure, it's hard knowing what we're headed for, but again, the good guys win.
Still, the insanity that is all around us can wear on a person, and if you have to deal with physical ailments as well like I do now (Long Covid; chronic fatigue and insomnia most prevalent), it makes it even rougher. Trust me, I am more than ready for eternity but until that takes place the evil that is all around us needs to be fought against, and it can be tiring.

“ A political operative who runs former Vice President Mike Pence’s super PAC and managed Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp's campaign is undermining Republican nominee for Speaker, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).
“Bobby Saparow, called “Pence’s sledgehammer” by Politico and a “senior advisor to Rep. Drew Ferguson (R-GA)” by Axios, told Axios, “Jim Jordan's suit coat has a better shot of being worn for 3 hours than Jim does of getting Drew's vote for Speaker”:”
Take a look at Rep. Tony Gonzales (I picked it at random), for example:
His district is majority Latino. He stomped his opponent in 2022(!), but won by far less, 4 points, in 2020. Trump won the district by 1.8 points, but all the "raters" on Ballotpedia show the district as "lean Democratic" (2 ratings) or "tilt Democratic" (1 rating).
Also take a look at his votes on many different issues, look at other contests within the district, etc. (Yes, this takes time.)
Conclusion: This should be a safe seat in 2024 because Gonzales is a moderate who lines up well with his district. There's literally nothing on the district level to indicate a deep red (or recently became associated with deep red) candidate can win that district.
I've lived in a "moderate" district myself for many years, and while the details are quite different (and probably more typical), it is very very difficult for a deep red House candidate to win here.
If you persist in indulging fantasies of hordes of deep red voters in moderate districts*, that's up to you. It's not a good way to fix fundamental problems, however.
Now, likely some of the 25 districts are after detailed analysis deep red but elect moderates. Please list some, including serious analysis. I agree those need "attention", but, how do we whittle those 25 (or more) down to 3?
OT question: Was your case of COVID severe?
I’m asking because I’m having similar problems of insomnia and fatigue, but, if I ever got COVID, it was pretty mild. I never tested positive.
-----------------------------------------
Oh wow, where do I begin? LOL
I was hospitalized Feb 2022 with Covid, pneumonia and a cracked rib. I fell in the parking just prior to getting Covid. I spent six days in the hospital and I got that Remdesivir treatment. Thank God it didn’t kill me.
After I got out and up through June I was starting to get my strength back when I developed vertigo and insomnia. It wasn’t too bad, until November when the symptoms got really bad. I developed chronic fatigue, insomnia, nausea and vertigo/dizziness.
All these lasted up through Jan 2023 when the nausea finally started clearing up, but the other three symptoms remained though not to the level they were, except for the insomnia. However, since the dizziness was still there my doctor forbade me to drive until I was good and awake, which means I didn’t report into work until 10:30 AM or so.
I finally had to retire in April of this year. Thank God my supervisors were VERY understanding and gave me the ability to rework my time in the office and to work part time until then. I had lots of sick time built up so I didn’t lose any pay.
Since then I’ve tried to overcome the insomnia but good, meaningful rest has eluded me. I’ve taken sleep meds on and off but nothing really gives me good sleep unless I drug myself up to oblivion, then I’m next to useless the next day. The fatigue is still a factor to, and since I can’t get good sleep it’s a double whammy.
I’ll be more than happy to answer any more questions you might have!
