There have been eight incidents where bear spray was used, and nine people died, since bear spray came out in 1986.

Unfortunately bear spray was their only legal option other than a knife under the right circumstances.

The blondie black bear quit coming around our place. Wasn’t huge, but I carried my 1955 Smith pre-27 with a 3.5” barrel, stoked with 158 grain Keith bullets.
