People in TX are still hopeful that a new Bush generation will emerge.

Funny you say that. Media here says Buzbee is an ambulance chaser 😀. Right now he’s chasing Dick DeGuerin in my book.

They reported their supposed evidence to the FBI in the summer of 2020. The FBI has done nothing with that information for 3 years even though the FBI brass in DC would love to indict Paxton.

The trigger point for the impeachment appears to be Paxton calling out Dade Phelan the TX House speaker for presiding over the House, while apparently intoxicated. Two days later the House votes to impeach Paxton.

To quote Paxton’s lawyers, “There are no coincidences in Austin.”

Look at the whistleblower supporters on X. “The FBI then investigated and found a crime!”…..it never occurs to them that you don't investigate a person in search of a crime?!

I consider the entire process of impeachment to be very misleading.

All the impeachment / removal process is doing, is a political decision on whether to continue the “employment” of the elected official. It is not a court, it does not determine guilt or not, it simply decides whether employment is continued or not. It is no different than a corporation deciding to continue employment of a person who has been accused of something. Employment is decided independent of any legal court action.

Therefore, facts and evidence really do not matter. The heart of the matter is: should this person (Paxton) continue being employed as AG or not. That is a purely political decision and should solely be based on whether he can continue to effectively execute the office AG or not.

The defending attorney did his prep work.

It looks like a handful of junior suits in the AG office took their water cooler gossip to the FBI without any hard evidence.

I watched the trial. The defense tore the witnesses apart.
