Just wait for the howling and cursing here on this forum when China decides to shutdown all the cars, appliance, machinery, computers, and infrastructure they have sold the USA. It’ll be “Highway Robbery, Highway Robbery!!!” they will say.

-” VIN coding electronic parts in the car”

Not exactly new, Foe many years the ECU knows the VIN number.

Many Tesla rebuilders on Youtube do OK, the problem is Tesla not selling some components for a salvage title VIN.

CarBQs are a Freeruplic favorite, Jethro did attend Oxford, but that does not indicate he can rewire a Tesla.

Too late already happened.

What type of gasoline do you run in your classic muscle car with 11:1 CR?

The NEW, IMPROVED gas since the 1990s eats many plastic car parts like carb parts, oozes directly through the walls of plastic tanks, and some fuel lines...

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!
Current license plates require a current EPA test.
Sometimes you can have antique vehicle tags BUT, you can only drive to car shows and gas stations.

No they are still building some cars. Putin deregulated the auto industry so that the cars can be sold without electronic content that was imported but under sanction.

Important lesson for the West dependent on electronics and parts from China to produce their cars. For example when the Panama Canal was shut, almost every car factory in Europe closed for lack of parts.

--- "About his wages, the typical Russian takes home ~$500.00 a month, not quite Hannity level but well into the boyar level."

My argument is not that Solovyov is somehow a good guy. Demonstrably he is another in the long line of self-promoters, seen consistently around this wee world of ours.

His ~$526,000 -- compared to a Russian per capita of about $7,933 [ December 2022] -- is about 66 times as great an income.

Comparing him and "our" Hannity's ~$40 million -- compared to about 60 percent of our US population of about ~$50K and less -- we find our "oligarch" is about 800 times as great an income.

Okay, let's be "fairer" in our comparison and take little Lester Holt -- ~$4 million, we find "poorer" Lester Holt manages a mere 80 times the most of our US population. So compared to some of our "truth tellers," this blustery, foolish Solovyov doesn't quite measure up. Not for trying, of course.

As I see it, "our" oligarchs are "better" than "theirs," and "our" media types are "better" than theirs. And their "boyars" seem no match for our "boyars," so we may use any aristocratic term we like, and simple math says....

So many in our government are "boyars" while not being noble. Ditto the Ruskies.

A fun note:

Just last November Solovyov’s salary was over one million dollars.
Today about half of that amount.

No wonder he is perturbed about the maintenance cost for his Merc.

Do you know what? It’s annoying but you’re correct. I knew a guy exactly that same way. He had pictures of a brand new Mercedes up all around his office when he was a very new business scratching out in existence. And he said what I put in my mind will come true. I should’ve listened. I need to re-calibrate I think lol.

It is a fun note. I look forward to many more such fun notes, as the “aristocracy” worldwide reap the whirlwind they've made. Best wishes, with the hopes you didn't invest in Evergrande, and that he did.
