No thanks. I’d rather spend what precious time I have left on this earth, doing what I like best...reading.

I’m not even close to being a Seasoned Citizen and I have zero interest - ZERO - in allowing a(nother) programmed piece of spyware into my home or life.

There are no dots, echos, alexas or amandas in my house, no smart anything. This AI Chat thing will not be good for humanity, either.

OpenAI is heads and shoulders above Wikipedia but shares some of the same strengths and weaknesses as Wikipedia. It is worthless for questions involving controversies.

I asked ChatGPT to write me a short story in the style of Jack London who met a feral girl on the beaches of North Carolina in the year 1973. Does that make me a good person?

I have no intention of starting a conversation with a machine.

The phone stuff is bad enough, but no way I am going to ask any AI a question. The government is nosy enough. I won’t be vounteering any information to them.

I prompted GPT by telling it that in my country we choose nicknames for our business acquaintances.

Told him I was going to refer to him as Nimnuts. Asked it it was OK for him.

He heartily agreed I could call him Nimnuts.

And so it goes.

Why is it a good thing to be a constitutional conservative?
ChatGPT
Being a constitutional conservative refers to adhering to and promoting the principles and values outlined in a country’s constitution, often with a focus on limited government, individual liberties, and the rule of law. Supporters of constitutional conservatism believe that these principles are essential for maintaining a stable and prosperous society. Here are some reasons why many people consider it a good thing to be a constitutional conservative:

Preservation of Individual Liberties: Constitutional conservatives prioritize the protection of individual rights and freedoms, such as freedom of speech, religion, and the right to bear arms. They believe that these rights should be upheld by the government and not be infringed upon unnecessarily.

Limited Government: Constitutional conservatives advocate for a limited government that operates within the bounds set by the constitution. They believe that an overly intrusive government can stifle personal and economic freedoms, leading to inefficiencies and potential abuses of power.

Rule of Law: Constitutional conservatives value the rule of law as a fundamental principle for a just and orderly society. They believe that all individuals, including government officials, should be subject to the same laws, ensuring fairness and equality under the law.

Stability and Predictability: Following the constitution provides a stable and predictable framework for governance. Constitutional principles help avoid arbitrary changes in laws and policies, providing a solid foundation for long-term planning and societal development.

Respect for Tradition: Constitutional conservatives often respect the wisdom of historical traditions and institutions that have stood the test of time. They believe that these traditions can offer valuable insights into building a successful society.

Balanced Government Powers: Constitutional conservatives support the idea of a system of checks and balances, where different branches of government can hold each other accountable. This prevents any one branch from accumulating excessive power and becoming tyrannical.

Protection of Property Rights: Property rights are a crucial aspect of constitutional conservatism. Protecting these rights encourages economic growth, entrepreneurship, and individual responsibility.

Fiscal Responsibility: Constitutional conservatives often emphasize the importance of responsible fiscal policies, including limiting government spending and advocating for a balanced budget.

Preservation of National Identity: Some constitutional conservatives see the constitution as a reflection of their nation’s identity and heritage. Preserving and upholding the constitution is, for them, a way to maintain their cultural and historical values.

Protection against Tyranny: By adhering to a constitution that limits the powers of government, constitutional conservatives believe that they are guarding against the potential for tyranny or authoritarian rule.

It’s important to note that people have different perspectives and ideologies, and not everyone will agree with the principles of constitutional conservatism. Some may prefer different political ideologies, such as progressivism or libertarianism, which also have their own rationales and benefits. Ultimately, the value of being a constitutional conservative depends on one’s personal beliefs and how well these principles align with their vision for society.

Oddly enough, this song/lyric came to mind...
Van Halen - Runnin' With The Devil
I got no love, no love you'd call real

There's the problem, especially with AI.

Ain't got nobody, waitin' at home
Sounds like a ripe environment for a cheese trap.
