Pretty much. I feel for those folks out west. That’s some brutal heat.
Humidity however can turn a day that’s about 80 into a freaking steam bath.
Two or three days of it and you’re ready to kill some body.
It is hot in Phoenix.
But that’s not that unusual.
Phoenix record is 122F (like 40 years ago), We are not even close to that.
I have lived through 118F several times, but not this year!
We had unusually cold May and most of the June, but these types are not interested in that!
It is weather!
People who live in Death Valley grin.
I remember an old OLD joke about a miner in the 1880s Phoenix who died and went to hell. He begged the Devil to allow him to return to Phoenix to get his blankets as hell was just too cold for him.
Here in the NW Ozarks this is the coolest spring and early summer I can ever remember, and I have been here since 1956.
I remember April 12, 1972 when the official temp in Tulsa OK was 102 degrees. Others had 106.
Pikers. Hottest temperature ever recorded: 120 F, Ozark, northwest Arkansas, 8/10/1936. No AC! And if you factor in the humidity it was MURDER!
I remember Langley OK July-Aug back in 1984. It was so hot that even going swimming in the lake was like jumping into a hot water pool.
