Your welcome. The movie clearly filmed on location, makes it so interesting to me. Going back in time and to where Charles Manson was hanging out. The 60s were about to end....a bad ending.
Svelte doesn’t adequately describe my then 15yr old fiance in 1968. Svelte enough that I kept her and our 55th anniversary is coming up. Those were the days.

Manson and his early “Family” lived right around the corner from the free clinic in the Haight-Ashbury clinic. A lot of people over the years have questioned how someone on federal parole could end up getting involved in prostitution and underage runaways, credit card fraud, car theft rings, robbery, drugs and get arrested repeatedly, and somehow not return to prison. Recent research determined that he and his followers were part of a federally funded study on “Communal living” through the free clinic. That was kept secret during the trial, they all basically had a “get out of jail free” card.
I’ve watched 28 minutes so far. It feels like four hours just flew by!

Dennis is indeed a big promoter of using the American military all over the globe to fight for other people’s freedom.
Yet oddly enough when the Vietnam war presented him with a direct opportunity to defend South Vietnam he didn’t feel a need to join the military and use a rifle.
Judging from his own words he preferred globe trotting and chasing girls. Presumably having sex was okay for him, while others could do the actual combat that he thinks needs doing.

No. Dennis was too busy studying the history of Communism and declaring it evil to actually fight it in a war.
And being born in 1948 he’s exactly the cohort that did the heavy fighting and dying in Vietnam so he had the chance if he wanted.
But his enthusiasm for using the military as a moral bludgeon never included him participating. That’s a pretty common position among neoconservative thinkers who like to advocate wars.
I was there in 67,not as a hippie but as a USAF troop stationed at DLIWC Monterey and up to SF on weekends. I ran into some people I knew from home way across the country.

A lot of people oppose Communism without having served or being in the military currently.
