I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the four hundred and fifty fifth day of the war.
Day 455: May 24
When it comes to the Belgorod region, today, the Freedom of Russia Legion and Russian Volunteer Corps declared that all goals of their special operation were achieved, and they returned back to the base on Ukrainian territory. Soon, the commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps, Denis White Rex, gave an interview and elaborated on everything that happened.
The most important objective that these forces managed to achieve is force Russians to relocate their troops from the front. By the end of the second day, the insurgent forces started facing elements of unspecified Motorized Rifle detachments, which is why they promptly withdrew from the Belgorod region. The Motorized Rifle elements will not return to the front and will continue to stay in Belgorod because the threat of such attacks remains.
In order to force Russians to relocate even more troops, Ukrainians started destroying Russian forces in the Belgorod region with drone attacks. And this is not surprising because Ukrainian reconnaissance could observe in real time how and where Russians are deploying their forces in response to this crisis. The strikes will likely continue to intensify, and the accumulated losses of personnel with likely prompt Russians to redeploy even more troops.
But this is not the biggest strike that Russians have been facing recently. As you remember, Russians are redeploying their forces from the south to the north not only because of the situation in Belgorod but also because of the falling apart flanks in Bakhmut. And on top of the falling apart flanks, the Wagner Group is planning to leave Bakhmut in a few days, which further necessitates filling the void. Such a massive movement of troops is a perfect opportunity for precision strikes.
Today Ukrainians conducted a powerful HIMARS strike on the Russian objects in Khartsyzk. Local residents reported hearing multiple explosions, and Russian sources reported that Ukrainians targeted areas of DPR forces concentrations. And this is a very interesting detail because the Russian High Command reportedly decided to substitute Wagner forces in Bakhmut with the DPR forces, so it looks like Ukrainians managed to catch them on the move.
Two days ago, Ukrainians also used their newest weapon and conducted a Storm Shadow missile strike on Berdyansk. The target of the strike became military facilities next to the airfield, and the missile reportedly successfully reached its predetermined destination. Some Russian military analysts quickly connected the dots with the recent strike on similar facilities next to the airfield in Mariupol and concluded that Ukrainians are planning to eliminate the most capable pilots in the Russian army. The continuation of such strikes, in combination with the recently announced supplies of F-16 fighter jets, could mean that Ukrainians can achieve air superiority, especially if they narrowly concentrate on a particular front.
Another potent strike happened near Donetsk. Local residents reported that Ukrainians conducted multiple attacks on warehouses in different parts of the city and on the fourth attempt, managed to destroy an ammunition depot that the DPR forces made on the territory of an auto center.
Lastly, a fierce strike happened in the Kherson region. Several days ago, various sources reported about the relocation of unspecified detachments of Chechen forces. The information was once again leaked because a Chechen fighter was carelessly using social media. According to the unconfirmed reports, prior to the strike, around 100 troops arrived in Oleshky on 8 trucks, 5 cars, and 9 armored fighting vehicles, which were likely the targets of the strike.
Overall, Ukrainians continue destabilizing the situation on various parts of the front line by using the most versatile tactics, such as sabotage and reconnaissance activities in the north, successful counterattacks in the east, and precision strikes on command centers in the south. By losing the initiative, Russian forces caught themselves in a position where they are reacting to the developments put in motion by Ukrainians, while Ukrainians, in turn, are destroying Russian forces that are being redeployed in an attempt to adjust to these new developments.

Russians had to scramble to keep nuclear weapons bunker with tactical nukes from being overrun
Had to move warhead for 240mm mortar from bunker near city of Grayavoron from being captured
Question ia why keeping nuclear weapons near Ukrainian border
“Were they Ukraines former Nuclear Weaponry?”
I wondered the same. Belgorod does have a unique Ukrainian historic and anti-communist tie.
The Ukrainian War of Independence was a military conflict involving many parties that lasted from 1917 to 1921 which saw the establishment and development of an independent Ukrainian republic, most of which was later absorbed into the Soviet Union as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic of 1922–1991.
“On 10 April 1918, troops of the Imperial German Army occupied Belgorod. After the conclusion of the Brest-Litovsk peace treaty of 9 February 1918 the demarcation line passed to the north of the city. Belgorod became part of the newly proclaimed Ukrainian People’s Republic (February to May 1918) and Ukrainian State headed by Hetman Pavlo Skoropadskyi.
On 20 December 1918, after the overthrow of German-backed Skoropadskyi, the Soviet Red Army regained control over the city, which became part of the RSFSR.
From 24 December 1918 to 7 January 1919, the Provisional Workers’ and Peasants’ Government of Ukraine, then led by General Georgy Pyatakov, was based in Belgorod. The city served as the temporary capital of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. From 23 June to 7 December 1919, the Volunteer Army occupied the town as part of White-controlled South Russia. [The White movement also known as the Whites, was a loose confederation of ANTI-communist forces that fought the communist Bolsheviks, also known as the Reds, i.e. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_movement.]
BTW, on 2 March 1935, the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union decided to ALLOCATE the city of Belgorod, Kursk region, into an INDEPENDENT administrative unit directly subordinate to the Kursk Regional Executive Committee.
The German Wehrmacht occupied Belgorod from 25 October 1941 to 9 February 1943. The Germans re-captured it on 18 March 1943 in the final move of the Third Battle of Kharkov. On 12 July 1943, during the Battle of Kursk, the largest tank battle in world history took place near Prokhorovka, and Red Army definitively retook the city on 5/6 August 1943.

really great info you’re sharing
thanks so much!
Of course the attack is over. It ended the minute the Russian air force and military showed up. The incursion was nothing but a diversion that sacrificed more Ukrainian lives for little or no gain.

Thank you for your kind words. I believe history is important to understand ‘the why’ of now current events as well as the future.
While seeking more info on the Belgorod imcursion I encounyrtrd an information site I had not seen before.
https://euromaidanpress.com/2023/05/24/russo-ukrainian-war-day-454-ukraine-not-involved-directly-in-belgorod-ukraine-authority/ [Below is information I have not seen elsewhere.]
“* Russia is highly likely creating a new ‘elite’ attack aviation group code-named ‘Shtorm’ to operate over Ukraine. The unit is likely to consist of at least one squadron of Su-24 FENCER and Su-34 FULLBACK fighter-bombers, and a squadron of attack helicopters.
* The mix of aircraft types suggests the group will have a primary role of ground attack missions. Credible Russian media reports suggest that the Russian MoD aims to attract highly skilled and motivated pilots by offering large pay incentives and opening recruitment to retired aviators.
* The creation of the group highlights how Russian assesses its regular air force squadrons have severely underperformed in their core function of conducting airstrikes on Ukrainian lines.”
I wonder how much money it will take to attract these “highly skilled and motivated pilots” and “retired aviators”.

You mean the Russians are going to provide a bunch of practice targets for the new Ukrainian F-16 squadrons. Right neighborly of them to do this!
This indicates that Putin has decided to burn his Air Force. Most of them will be shot down before they are near the FEBA. A last desperate gamble, that has long been predicted to end in utter destruction of the Russian Air Force.
