Two words: dihydrogen monoxide.

That would have to be a lot of warming.
It can snow at 40 degrees and the warmer the air temperature, the more snowfall, until it turns to rain.
The reason the icecap in the Antarctic is so thick is because it never melts, even though it almost never snows. It’s too cold to snow. The air cannot hold enough moiture for anything appreciable.
So up to a point, the icecaps would actually increase in size.
Then the temperatures would have to be well above freezing long enough to put a dent in the icecaps.
And when the pole is in the dark at - whatever for half the year, they aren’t going anywhere.
