Psychedelic Shack, that’s where it’s at.
Since the Blues Brothers movie this melody is linked to it in my brain rather than the single.
Booker T and the MGs had talent bursting at the seams.
Does anyone remember Muddy Waters’ album Electric Mud (1968)? Or Howlin’ Wolf (1969)?
The two were the attempt to cash in on the psychedelic music boom but in the process insulted two of the great icons of blues music. The side musicians were the Rotary Connection (whose own LPs are now valued highly). Worth listening to for shock value.

WTF does War have to do with psychedelic?
The author seems confused as to what “psychedelic” actually meant.
And then came Disco!

I listened to that for the first time last year, totally blown away, Eddie Hazel was a phenom.
The psychedelic sound originated with the use of LSD and had it's beginnings in The Haight Ashbury in San Francisco and was pioneered by groups like The Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service and The Grateful Dead. Among all of these The Grateful Dead were the masters of this sound.
dey was all a trip
I don’t exactly why you’re telling me that. I knew it all.
Saw the great groups in person and used to write rock music reviews for a national magazine which will go unnamed here.
I believe that Sly and the Family Stone were the true pioneers of the Psychadelic Soul Sound.
