I deal with a couple trucking companies out in the western US that transport bees.
The transportation of bees from southern CA, progressively moving north throughout the produce season is a specialized business.

They have nets to put over the flatbed trucks to try to keep the bees in during transport. The trucks typically will also have two man teams. So, they only stop in transit for fuel only. They also try to run at night when the bees are in the hive and the temperature is cooler.

Transporting bees pays a lot more/mile than most other commodities loaded on a flatbed trailer.
