Hahaha...well, I have to concede Michael Caine did overshadow him there, especially in the bottom gif!

Lord, those were the days! It’s just as funny today as when it came out.

That’s funny...I re-watched “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” a couple months ago, too. It’s hilarious.
Steve Martin was one of a kind.

“They really are a bunch of humorless pricks, aren’t they?”
Isn’t that the truth? Can you imagine going through life like that? Talk about a turd in the punch bowl.

I saw Steve Martin do his stand-up show in early 1978 at the Florida Gym where the Gators played basketball. John Sebastian opened for him.
He ran that short as part of the act. It was nominated for an Academy Award for best live action short film that year.

What if the baby Clark Kent had grown up in Nazi Germany...? Uberman!
Let the wokesters munch on that SNL classic for a while. It must suck knowing nothing of inappropriate laughter.

It really wasn’t.
If you go back and watch entire shows, the number of misses are pretty high.
It’s been said that SNLs best years were the years when you were 16-22. The perception of the best years is entirely subjective.
That said, in the past eight years or so the trend is entirely too politically one sided. In the past they targeted both sides. That hasn’t been true for a while.

I watched the show for the first two or three years. I stand by my comment. It was dang funny those years and watching those skits today, it is still humorous.

Yes. I used “was” in the sense he was a magnificent entertainer in those years, not that he had passed.

Oh, the skits you watch were new and very different. But, I mean the entire shows—they were pretty hit or miss.
There are still some very funny bits…but the dogs are bad. Like Great Dane sized dogs. Lol.
To: Vermont Lt
You might be right to a degree. Perhaps it’s the dope I was smoking back then while in college that’s clouding my memory.
