The horror. The horror.
Here is some cut and paste on Deadnaming...
I (M24) transitioned about a year ago, my entire family knows about it at this point, even my 3 month old little brother (0.25M). Everyone calls me by my preferred name and uses my referred pronouns (he/him), EXCEPT my grandmother (90F). She doesn’t know much about LGBTQIA+ (when I explained it to her she just said something she already mentioned like 3 times beforehand), but that doesn’t excuse her being this transphobic and gaslighting me into being cis. Anyways, a little less than 4 days ago I was taking care of my grandma and she suddenly says something along the lines of “[deadname], dear, can you please bring the remote here so I can watch TV?”. Tired of her FASCIST BULLSHIT, I THREW the remote in her face. She yelled “[mom’s name]! Your DAUGHTER threw a remote at me!”. I got incredibly pissed, my hands shaking at my nazi grandma. I dropkicked her to the ground and jumped out of the window. I got 58+ calls and a bunch of texts saying they called the police blah blah blah. I’m currently at my boyfriend’s (63M) apartment hiding from the cops. Kind people of Reddit, AITA?
Needs to be charged with assaulting and battery. No excuse to attack a ninety year old over something spoken. Can’t handle it, don’t interact. Easy enough.
Deadnaming is an interesting term because my experience is transgender people are trying to kill the them that was a magnet for abuse, the them they hate. Transitioning doesn’t resolve underlying mental health issues.
The story is not true. Someone made it up, to make fun of people who believe in the weirdness. No one was hurt.
