One of the most crime free cities in the world is Dubai. They don’t cut of hands anymore, but give stiff jail time and jail isn’t air conditioned and the daytime temperature hits 120
Ask any veteran cop and they’ll tell you that only a handful of perps commit the majority of crimes.
I didn’t actually see the any of the shows, just the YouTube shorts, but there was a scene in “Game of Thrones” where the little man said, “Amazingly, there has been a drop in the number of thefts. Why is that?” His “general” said, “We arrested the thieves.” “What? All of them?” “There’s only a small number and they won’t be a problem.” (Meaning he’d killed them.)
Yes!
13 do 50
I’ve been meaning to visit the Emirates.
Islam there has morphed into what a truly Christian America used to be like.
Probably it’s values are indistinguishable from what ours used to be.
We on the other hand have morphed into a cesspool.
the number is much higher, they just all look alike
I read someplace that shoplifting gets you up to a to a year. Falling behind on your car payments gets jail time too, although I don’t remember how much. There are a surprising number of abandoned luxury vehicles where the owner decided to leave the car and the UAE rather than face the punishment for falling behind on the payments. While I think that just letting the bank repossess the car would be good enough, I have to agree on the penalty for shoplifting. If our shoplifters got a year every time they committed the crime I suspect the “shrinkage” would slow to a trickle.
Another place that has a very low crime rate, miniscule drug use, and “homeless” is Singapore.
I guess cracking down on criminals and druggies works!
Thug: Momma told me I should get a career instead of being in one juvie detention after another. So I gots me the one I’m good at: career criminal thief.
Other thread mentions it is not a petty thing but adds up to a lot of money:
Thread: As Walmart shuts down four stores in crime-ridden Dem-led Chicago, DailyMail.com lists all the big box shops - from Macy’s to Target - which have closed due to millions in losses from rampant theft.
Millions!
I call B.S.
Oh no you have to pat them on the heard and punish the victims for defending their property. That's the way to reduce crime. Just ask any San Francisco voter. Just ask any of the business that have been driven to close because so much merchandise was stolen that the stores were operating at a loss
