I remember when Gorby was much more popular in the US than he was in the Soviet Union.

Same with Yeltsin. Russians today do not hold either man in high esteem, particularly Yeltsin who they regard as a Western puppet who handed Russia's wealth and resources over to oligarchs and gangsters to be sold to the West.
