Tennessee has gone mad specifically. I can remember going though the state when I was a kid in the late 60s with my parents on the way to Florida.
It was MORE conservative and rural than Kentucky. Often saw the Stars and Bars proudly flying, usually next to a fireworks stand. People were old south and all conservative it seemed.
Today Nashville stretches on and on, pavement and cars endlessly. Now their youth fly the rainbow flag instead and March to the beat of Lenin.
