In reality, they had it first. So by giving it up to the US they allowed America to update all the resources, set up the future for independent operations, and do all the construction to prepare for their return to prominence. So who invented capitalism? Might be closer giving the sellers a bonus for their good work being taken to the cleaners. And the state politicians are right up in the front of the line with their hands out.

Interesting place. Drove by that exit for years and never took it.
THIS is what is down Zzyzx road. Not what I expected.
“Popular” isn’t the most appropriate word as it implies a choice. Most people keep the surname they’re born with. I guess Christian or “given” names could be ranked by popularity.
