It’s a shame is their best....
Wait a second. Elvis died? Was that a hoax?๐
There was a great routine on Saturday Night Live where a TV panel was asked (maybe in the 1980s or 1990s?) to recall their first hearing of the death of JFK in Dallas in 1963. Each one was shocked to learn of it and started into denial and then sobs. Ones farther down the row of chairs didn't hear it so they also were suddenly shocked and started crying in disbelief. Funny bit.
The Trial
Netflix
Alex Chilton, then the Spinners.
Co-written by Steve Wonder.
ahahaha! The first thing that came to mind was sign spinners and I thought yeah, some are pretty darn good. Maybe an Olympic sport? They do have Curling after all.
Took a minute but the brain finally turned on—I love The Rubberband Man! They have my vote.
I grew up with CKLW and the Motown sound imprinted on me strongly. Have you ever checked out the CKLW WEBSITE for the original Big 8? For awhile there was Plannine’s charts which listed the top 30 singles and albums for almost every single week since the mid 60s. I could go through each week’s chart and remember almost every one, almost as fun as listening. So many obscure ones that never got airplay since.
The intro to “It’s a Shame” is the happiest guitar riff in history. They should be in the HOF.
When my daughter was younger, she signed up for some โfreeโ music download site.
Then she found out she had to pay the next month. It was my credit card.
I kept it for a month and canceled.
I decided to check out the top 100 for 1973. I knew 90 of the top 100 and downloaded most of them.
What great music.
