And by the end of summer, whatever water surplus Kali might enjoy, will have been flushed into the Pacific in the name of some mythical aquatic urchin. Then it will be back to drought crisis. It’s what kalifornicators do best.
I guess they can’t wait for that scary “record high temperature summer” they are predicting to get here.
Climate Change, for sure, was the cause of this.
All the older homes in Soda Springs and Norden are up on stilts. There’s a reason.
The Califanatics here convinced themselves it could never happen again, so they don’t prepare for it anymore.
Funny how Nature has a way of reminding them.
I’ll be honest, I was really getting worried lettuce for my salads last year. Keeping California hydrated is important for all of us
Blocking out the Sun should help ,LOL
Video at link doesn’t seem to work for me. Do I need to subscribe or something?
Many, many moons ago, we were done with a great Tahoe ski trip, and the snow just kept on comin’. The regular, main roads heading West, Hwy 50 and 80, were closed due to multiple avalanches. Before they closed both roads, we had driven far enough West that turning around did not make sense. We found a small tavern still open, and waited there. There were many others in the tavern in the same state. Eventually, CalTrans snowplowed the old Hwy 50 road, and the Highway Patrol escorted groups of cars over the summit. It took 11 hours to get home. Back then, EVERYONE thought the next Ice Age was just around the bend. Two weeks ago, the Kalifornia Sierra snowpack was at 250% of normal, but they will still flush most of the snowmelt out to the ocean, and maintain the ‘drought’ due to not enough water.
mythical aquatic urchin = the Delta Smelt
(Note: The Delta Smelt is not native to California rivers. It was introduced by the state as a food source for native species.)
Kirkwood so far has 502+ inches for the season. And not much fell before the Christmas/New Year week. Getting some with lots of wind at our place on the east side.
We had another good pair of storms blow through the San Francisco Peninsula yesterday and today. AccuWeather says that Soda Springs is getting snowed on right now and there's a blizzard warning. The snow is forecasted to stop tomorrow morning at 9 am with another 3 to 4 feet coming down.
If only there were some way for California to save all this snow melt water and use it during the summer. If only...
“Blocking out the Sun should help”
Do you think any of the 60 “scientists” feels foolish about now?
Video worked again .. not subscribed
Video worked for me, but you have to watch a 35 second commercial about getting your teeth fixed somewhere. I dumped it. Ugh, no commercials for me.
With Brave - no commercial
I haven’t tried Brave. I’ve got two ad blockers on Safari on my Mac, but nothing blocked that nauseating ad. The ad blockers are failing all over the place lately including the throughly ad-ridden AccuWeather. There are 10X more ads than content. Ugh.
