Liv has an app that people around the world watch the first event on. Nielsen dosn’t track online viewership which is significant for LIV.
Live players are offered a contract just like an NFL or NBA player. The winner of last weeks LIV match won 2 million dollars. The Honda Classic winner got 1.5 million
just adding to what you said...it now gets even darker for LIV(with both Opens aboard.)
what gets crazier, if DP Europe allows LIV players to play in it’s torunaments and get rating points.
Does it bring the Ryder & President’s Cups into turmoil ?
I believe both cups are owned and run by the PGA - PGA USA and PGA Europe.
how would these LIV guys get on the CUP teams even if they have the rating points ?
It would seem PGA wouldn’t allow it, being involved in suing LIV.
LIV will just get darker.
But I will watch.
Kirk won $3,600,000 for the Honda Classic
What a concept !
The Honda Classic had a purse of $8.4 million.
The winner’s share was $1,512,000.
Chris Kirk beat Eric Cole in a playoff.
Howell III famously earned $42 million on the PGA Tour despite winning only three times in 609 career starts. Yet his biggest individual prize money payout was only $1.152 million with his victory at the 2018 RSM Classic. He easily eclipsed that on Sunday by claiming the $4 million first-place prize money payout from the overall purse of $20 million.
The overall purse for the LIV Golf Team Championship – Miami was $50 million, with the four-man team that won on Sunday—the 4 Aces—earning $16 million to split among its members—Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Talor Gooch and Pat Perez.

I apologize. Sorry..I stand corrected...
I got it from here in the blurb but the leaderboard shows $1,512,000.

I’ll shut up and sit down now.
Does the PGA have antitrust exemption like the NFL? If so, both should lose that if we’re gonna have true competition, regardless of where the money is coming from then we should have it. The golfers should not be penalized because they want to play in one league or the other or both.
Why would anyone tune to a channel which is (a) almost non-existent; (b) over-the-air in some markets where it will not longer be counted by anyone (irony!); and (c) the PGA show also slumped miserably when compared against last year's Genesis.
If anything, LIV is going to cannibalize PGA's minor markets exactly like it was intended to. And the Majors are all permitting LIV players this year rather than lose the lawsuit.
Schadenfreude!

The Ryder and President’s cup teams for the most part are determined by a points systems based on how the players have performed over the previous two years.
I don’t see how you can include the LIV players in this system, the LIV tour does have a number of highly ranked players on their tour, however, they play only against each other in limited fields for only 54 holes with most of them receiving guaranteed money.
PGA and European Tour players routinely go back and forth and play against each other in tournaments all over the world, next week is the players championship which will have one of if not the strongest fields in golf with players earning their way in, something LIV players don’t do.
Exactly. Thanks for explaining so well. I do remember Koepka well and cheered him on, but he dropped down the scorecard dramatically as did DeChambeau.
I miss DeChambeau because he’s so darned good looking. And was off to a fabulous start.
Veto!
