He sounded like a conservative and sure fooled a lot of people.

I guess all will be revealed once Ron has to articulate a foreign policy.

Also the kind of people he appoints to any campaign:

Will they be Bush Leaguers and Neocons? His advisors, etc? All of this will tell us more.

I much prefer Trump after his recent video calling out the military industrial complex!

Trump took large donations as well.

133 billionaires donated to Trump.

Trump does not spend his own money on campaigns.

Did Trump actually say anything about that?

DeSantis does not “sound like a conservative”.

DeSantis has governed as a conservative and implemented more of the conservative agenda in Florida than any other recent governor anywhere.

The need to dismiss DeSantis’ incredible conservative track record shows your desperation.

See my last post

If Ron appoints Bush Leaguers as advisors then it’ll be telling and you can count me out.

I understand the point you’re all making (anyone can endorse anyone) but IF he embraces them then it’s a problem.

He does welcome it and he’s fighting for the nomination. The Desanctimonius people think that means Trump has to be respectful to the turncoat. It does not. So stop complaining and keep fighting back by using surrogates...coward that he is

Through Tucker, do you mean?

As for “H”:

11th Director of Central Intelligence
In office January 30, 1976 – January 20, 1977 under President Gerald Ford

How did Trump implicate H in the manner you suggest?

Just looking for clarification.

No reason to make more of this than what it is, just pure hatred of Trump.

They hate Trump as a candidate because they hate a sovereign USA.

Maybe Jeb endorsed him or maybe Jeb endorsed “anybody but” DJT .

Or maybe it's "anybody but" the pro America candidate.

The Republicans I know who hate Trump are the blue blood types that are simply offended by him on multiple levels. The same people who get upset if politicians use cuss words basically.

Politicians live in an incestuous cesspool. It seems that Trump doesn’t fit well with them simply because he doesn’t.

The same ones who hated Reagan, but tolerated him once he started winning.

Of course Bush was their boy, and he started overturning everything Reagan did on Day One.

Well, of course, you may prefer whomever you like.

But this entire non-issue is instigated by pro-Trump Sebastian Gorka, which means PDJT is probably behind it or at least gives it his blessing.

So it may be best to avoid taking it at face value. Consider the source: JEB!? Think about it. If JEB! endorsed PDJT, would you dump the Donald?

Big PDJT fan here, but I do wish he’d get off these trivial, high-school-kid attacks. When PDJT sticks to issues, he is brilliant. For instance, his visit to East Palestine with water and burger diplomacy and empathy that absolutely crushed Biden and Pete.

I want to see how the primaries shake out. I want to hear how our candidates would solve the huge issues: border, culture, bureaucracy, Woke DoD. I sure as heck won’t let JEB! direct my preferences.

Bottom Line: If you’re wondering, I do hope PDJT is restored to his rightful presidency.

Yes I do wonder if anyone knows on what kind of terms the Bushes are with Ron. If they’re pals or not?

With Bush’s endorsement, I won’t vote for DeSantis. We need Trump badly in 24 if the Country is still viable then.

You are suggesting a downward trend in mentation among FReepers to account for an increase in displeasure with DeSanctus.

This is unfair and seems self-serving.

Moving on, DeSanctus in 2022-2023 seems to be behaving like Cruz in 2013-2014.

Hear me out.

Cruz was singularly positioned to support the U.S. Constitution by declaring his ineligibility for the office of POTUS. He had two, count ‘em two, independently disqualifying features insofar as he was born overseas and had a father who at the time of his birth was either a Cuban or a Canadian citizen. (Not to mention there was the matter of some paperwork to be filed with the U.S. authorities to assert his entitlement by statute to U.S. citizenship through his mother based on her ostensibly still being a U.S. citizen, despite reportedly being on the local voting rolls in Canada, but leave that to one side for the moment.). Had he, rather than developing an unhealthy attraction toward the office of POTUS, instead rightly and defiantly ridiculed all that suggested he was POTUS-eligible and should perhaps run for that office, this country would have gone a long way toward healing from the damage done to the U.S. Constitution by blatantly non-NBC Obama and his fellow Constitution-wrecker, Panama John McCain

DeSanctus is clearly POTUS eligible and likely has the chops to run and potentially win the Office of POTUS (young southern governor Clinton having already shown that relative youth is not a modern disqualifier). So that is not the way in which he resembles Cruz.

Where DeSanctus resembles Cruz is that he has a moral obligation not to run, but is flirting with running, dancing with the notion of running. DeSanctus is playing coy with those who think or say, with good reason, that he should definitively put this POTUS election cycle in his rear view mirror and focus on his current job, rather than sully his reputation by being half-in, half-out of the current POTUS race which, in case anyone hasn’t noticed, is already in full swing due to the screaming inadequacies of Brandon and his incompetent subordinates (including, notably, a blatantly non-NBC VPOTUS).

NFN, but DeSanctus is earning the nickname Meatball Ron, in that he is not using his head. Trump remains in good physical and mental shape. Between now and next spring/summer, Trump and can be relied upon to mercilessly politically dismember any other Republican who comes within shouting distance of his polling numbers with registered Republicans. DeSanctus would have to run the bloodiest of gauntlets to get past Trump. Plus he is on record, IIRC, as saying that if Trump were to run again, he would not run. Trump knows this and can be counted upon to punish DeSanctus for violating this commitment.

To sum up, Cruz should have been unswervingly committed to upholding the integrity of the U.S. Constitution, but got stars in his eyes and foolishly tried to upgrade his position to a position for which he was not eligible instead of other offices for which he was eligible such as U.S. Attorney General, or, perhaps even better, SCOTUS justice. DeSanctus, or Meatball Ron, for his part, disqualified himself for this POTUS election cycle by saying, what, a year or two ago?, that if Trump were to choose to run, he, DeSanctus, would not run. Accordingly his incessant flirtation with a possible POTUS run during the 2024 cycle, when he should be manfully holding to the noted commitment to refrain, is needlessly hurting his reputation for integrity and hurting his chances for successfully running for POTUS IN 2028 or later.

It is true that, when it comes to winning the office of POTUS, history has a way of disappointing men who put off running until a time when they find, to their chagrin, that the iron is cold, and that this counsels in favor of DeSanctus running now. But personal integrity and honor should count for something.

DeSanctus needs to call off the dogs and get squarely behind Bad Orange Man 2024.

“I presume you posted that in sarcasm, not ignorance. Trump barely spends his only money, probably hasn’t. He’s constantly begging money just like everyone else. I can show you the junk from my mail box and email if you’d like.”

__________

Sure, he begs for donors and cash.

Why not do this, particularly since he predictably took such a huge personal financial hit in running for and holding the office of POTUS.

But the point remains. Trump doesn’t have to beg for donors or cash, and that is a good thing.
