From Carterpalooza:
• In The Unfinished Presidency, Brinkley writes, “There was no world leader Jimmy Carter was more eager to know than Yasir Arafat.
And...
...here is Carter, to Douglas Brinkley, Carter’s biographer and analyst: “The intifada exposed the injustice Palestinians suffered, just like Bull Connor’s mad dogs in Birmingham.
And...
No one quite realizes just how passionately anti-Israel Carter is. William Safire has reported that Cyrus Vance acknowledged that, if he had had a second term, Carter would have sold Israel down the river. In the 1990s, Carter became quite close to Yasser Arafat. After the Gulf War, Saudi Arabia was mad at Arafat, because the PLO chief had sided with Saddam Hussein. So Arafat asked Carter to fly to Riyadh to smooth things over with the princes and restore Saudi funding to him — which Carter did.
I will not speak ill of the man on his deathbed... but he won't get any praise from me either.
Disagree with the headline; Obama got Jimmy off the hook and soon Biden will get Obama off the hook.
I voted for Carter 4 years after voting for McGovern. Any young adult at the time could see the effect Reagan had on the country afterwards. Reagan converted me.
Carter had good intentions but was undone by naivete. Cruel world we live in. Iran, Afghanistan. Blame Ford for not knowing where Poland was and Nixon for the coverup.
We gave it to them and we’re still doing it. Back then the press had the integrity to turn against him.
When he passes should the MSM compare funerals?
Oh Gawd. He won based on the fallout from Watergate and Ford's weakness as a candidate. The only good thing to come out of the Carter Admin was Ronald Reagan's landslide win in 1980.
Lyndon Johnson tops my list as worst President, both domestically and foreign policy wise.
I’m torn on worst president.
I’d list Wilson, FDR, and Obama,
Who actually did the most damage to America?
My personal opinions aside.
Who did the most damage to what America really is.
It has to be William Howard Taft.
He championed the 16th and 17th admendments.
that is Federal income tax and Senator selection for you rubes.
Without out those changes to the constitution Wilson, FDR, and Obama could not have done as much damage as they have done and Biden is presently doing.
Speaking purely emotionaly, prior to Obama I only despised Democrats, today I want to obliterate them.
but that isn’t logical or practical.
Billie Beer is missed by all!(/s)
Obama already did, and Brandon is competing for it. So Jimmy will have to settle for number three.
Carter may have been an anti-semite. He was certainly inept. And he was a disaster for America.
But he isn’t the worst. Obama takes that title. He is all those things Carter was plus malevolent. He hates us.
W is the worst with Obama right behind.
You have it backwards. There will never be a outsider as president because of Trump. One cannot pick enough bad people in the cabinet as Trump did. The DS loved Trump as president. More .gov, more spending, more fbi, cia, dod budget.
Jimmy, to me, was the worst president, however, he isn’t the worst president now Obummer, Biden and Bush 43 is ahead of him.
After he won the primaries, it wouldn't surprise me if somebody as unqualified and disgusting as Nikki gets the GOP nomination at least for VP. FOX is already pushing for her.
Carter passed the torch to Obama, who is now our worst former president. But he’s just holding that position temporarily, because once Biden is a former president, he will immediately inherit that title. Biden did more damage to our country in one year than Obama did in eight years.
Sorry. Obama was the worst ... but he is still President (Biden is just his dummy).
“ Jimmy Carter has opted for hospice care and may die soon. The media will sing his praises”
Peanut brain never met a communist he didn’t like I bet they come from far and wide to throw some dirt on him
Woodrow Wilson was the worst, by far.
Muravchik was born September 17, 1947 in New York City. His father, Emanuel Muravchik, was a leading American Jewish socialist.[8]
Joshua Muravchik initially adopted his father’s political leanings– he was National Chairman of the Young People’s Socialist League (YPSL) from 1968 to 1973, and executive director of the Coalition for a Democratic Majority from 1977 to 1979. He was also an aide to the late Congressman James G. O’Hara (D-Mich.) in 1975 and to the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) in 1977 and as a campaign aide to the late Senator Henry M. Jackson in his pursuit of the 1976 Democratic presidential nomination.[9]
