ChatGPT has shown the potential of AI, but also the GIGO that can easily be part of it.They’re saying that it takes a huge quantity of text input to train an AI - but the trouble is that, absent wisdom, intelligence is of limited utility.
Superficiality and negativity are, IMHO, the opposite of wisdom but are the defining characteristics of journalism and of leftism. Show me an AI which has learned (or been directed) to prioritize wisdom and be skeptical of the priorities of journalism, and I’ll consider it a boon to the homeschool movement.
“the court didn’t rule on the wisdom of the rules, just the legality of them”.
Well, yes that s what the courts are actually supposed to do. It seems like they only do so when they are in agreement, though, and have no problem overturning perfectly legal and constitutional laws and regulations when they disagree with those laws or regulations. The court made a correct ruling here, but it would be nice if they always held to the “rule on the legality, not the wisdom” standard.
We can see the results of “professionalizing the practice” in the public school system. What we need is more good judgement and common sense, not more degrees.
